HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I'm an eternal optimist, so I'm expecting great things for 2013.  What are your expectations, thoughts, prayers for the coming year?  Post them here.  I have too many to list, but here's a poem I wrote about one of my concerns.



The rich get richer and the poor are poorer.
For extinct middle class there’s no restorer.
Do our founding fathers look down in horror?

What has happened to our mighty nation?
Decisions show no rationalization.
Repeated untruths cause mass vexation.

Darkness lurks as I observe dilution,
the ripping apart of our constitution.
Let’s bond together and demand a solution.

    I'm excited about the New Year because it's a new beginning! After my dad's death in 2011 and my mom's death in 2012, I've finally reached 2013...I'm finally come to a calendar year in which a parent didn't died! That may sound silly, but it is big to me to get beyond that point!

    I'm excited that a niece and her husband that have wanted children for so long are now expecting their first son...my sister's first grandchild.

    I'm excited about my new grandson. It was very precarious getting him here, but he is beautiful and thriving.

    I'm thankful that in an economic climate where we've watched friends and family members come up empty-handed when searching for work, that my husband has a very good job.

    I am so thankful to be an American, but on the other hand, I am deeply saddened by the direction of our country. I didn't vote for our president, but I do hope that he is succussful in turning our country back to its former greatness! Our children and grand-children's freedoms depend on it.

    I'm excited about a long standing freedom in this country, but one I've just chosen to make a part of my personal life...the right to bear arms! Yep...just call me "Annie Oakley". I'm having great fun when my husband and I meet our son for target practice.

    Last on my list, but first in my heart...I know the Lord. I know what it's like to have His sweet fellowship and the fellowship of other believer's. I've seen great things He has done in the past! He is doing great things now! I look forward expectantly to the great things He will do!

    2013 is looking good from here...full of hope because of Him!!
